The legendary Kondi joint is one of India's most demanding handloom feats. Unlike commercial mill-printed or machine-stitched sarees where borders are merely attached after weaving, Kondi utilizes three independent wooden shuttles simultaneously on a sunken pit loom.
The weft threads of the body and contrasting border interlock looped loops across each row. This creates a structurally unified drape with lifelong resilience that never separates or frays at the border joints.
- Dry Cleaning Only: We recommend professional dry cleaning to maintain the natural sheen of pure silk filaments and zari luster.
- Ironing: Iron on low-to-medium silk heat with a protective muslin cloth overlay. Never iron directly over zari threads.
- Storage: Wrap the drape in the complimentary unbleached cotton muslin slipcover provided. Refold along new fold lines twice a year.
- Natural Protection: Store with natural cedar balls or dried neem leaves; avoid direct chemical naphthalene balls.
Every Traditional World order is dispatched with 100% Transit Insurance. If any package is damaged or compromised during transit, it is immediately replaced or refunded.
